DCCF Timeline History
1991
• The Greensburg Decatur County Chamber of Commerce developed a committee to organize the Decatur County Community Foundation. The Committee members included: Bob Huston, Pam Jones, Alice Rust, Bill Smith, Libby DeMoss, Steve Bieghler, Robert Browning, Jean Reed, Ed Kasamis, Bob Barker, Larry Meyer, Theresa Schwering and Bob Bostic. 1992 • The DCCF was incorporated.
• The DCCF participated in the Lilly Endowment Inc., GIFT Phase I program.
• The first Board of Directors are named: Bill Smith, Bob Bostic, Howard Sanders, John Corya, William Hunter,
Adrian Scripture, and Bill Robbins.
1993 • Leroy Springmeyer makes first gift.
• Assets rose to $180,000. 1994 • Assets rose to $737,000.
1995 • The DCCF makes its first grant.
• Assets rose to $1.4 million.
1996 • The DCCF participated in Lilly Endowment, Inc., GIFT Phase II program.
• Assets rose to $2 million.
1997
• The DCCF participated in Lilly Endowment, Inc., GIFT Phase III program.
• Assets rose to $4.1 million.
1998
• The DCCF participated in Lilly Endowment, Inc., GIFT Phase IV program.
• Sarah Boing was awarded the First Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship.
• Assets rose to $4.8 million.
1999 • The DCCF participated in Lilly Endowment, Inc., CAPE 1 and Taking Stock programs.
• Jane Deiwert was hired as first full-time employee.
• Michelle Anderson is hired as first full-time executive Director.
• Assets rose to $7.4 million.
2000
• Assets rose to $7.9 million.
2001 • The DCCF participated in Lilly Endowment, Inc., GIFT Phase V and CAPE 2 programs.
Assets remain at $7.9 million.
2002 • The DCCF received notification of the Burney and Lucy Lehman Gift. It was the largest single
donation to the DCCF.
• Assets declined to $7.5 million. 2003
• Assets rose to $13.5 million.
2004 • The DCCF participated in Lilly Endowment Inc., CAPE 3 and Sustaining Resource Development programs.
• DCCF established its first website, www.dccfound.org.
• DCCF held its first women’s lunch to start the Attagirl network.
• Assets rose to $14.5 million
2005 • The DCCF was approved for the Community Foundation Ethical and Operational National
Standards.
• Assets dropped to $14.3 million.
2006 • The DCCF offered a match program to local fire departments to start their own funds.
• Assets rose to $15.7 million.
2007 • The DCCF offered its first proactive grant to the Arts Council.
• The DCCF offered a community matching program that stimulated 7 new funds.
• Assets rose to $16.2 million.
2008 • The DCCF was selected as a Hometown Competitiveness Community.
• The DCCF started an Ag Field of Interest Fund with a farmer's breakfast.
• Assets dropped to $11.7 million.
2009 • The DCCF established Legacy for Decatur County…a path to the future, as the method to recognize individuals who use the DCCF for gift planning.
• Assets rose to $14 million.
