DCCF Awards Ag Grant to GCHS FFA

The Decatur County Community Foundation recently presented a check to the Greensburg Community High School FFA for two flat screen televisions to be used in the new Agricultural Learning Center. Located in the building’s meeting room, the televisions will be used to aid in classroom learning.

“The Greensburg FFA is very thankful for this grant,” said FFA Advisor Greg Schneider. “The TV screens will be used as computer monitors to enhance instruction during classroom sessions. The meeting room and screens will also serve the ag community during meetings, workshops and field days.”

From a student perspective, the Agricultural Learning Center provides multiple opportunities for non-farm students to gain first-hand experience in production agriculture. Through the lessons and experiences taught at the Agricultural Leaning Center, Schneider hopes to inspire young people to consider agriculture as a career.

The grant was made possible through a combination of the Decatur County Community Foundation’s Field of Interest Fund and the Community Fund. These funds are dedicated to fulfilling ag-related projects and meeting various community needs, respectively.
