Disaster Relief Assistance

Thanks to the Decatur County Community, $2,244.74 in disaster relief assistance is on its way to North Carolina.

The Decatur County Community Foundation began collecting monetary donations for disaster relief efforts in early October. Dollars are being sent to the Community Foundation of Western North Carolina, which is based in Asheville.

“Every penny of the money collected is going directly to help the people of North Carolina,” said DCCF Executive Director Tami Wenning. “We are working directly with a Foundation that is based in the heart of one of the areas hardest hit. Their Foundation knows first-hand what their community’s needs are. Every donor can be assured that their gift will help with the greatest needs.”

The Foundation will continue to accept disaster relief contributions through the end of October. To give to the effort, visit https://decatur.fcsuite.com/erp/donate/create/fund?funit_id=1660 .

The Foundation thanks all Decatur County donors who have given to the relief efforts, whether through monetary donations or physical items that were sent by other means.
