Why ask a woman for directions…because women are going places! The 250 women in attendance can attest to the fact that the women of Decatur County really are going somewhere.
A committee, headed by Sharon Crites and Greta Solgere planned the event which featured a gourmet lunch. Jennifer Pope Baker, of the Central Indiana Women’s Fund, and Reverend Margaret Lowe were keynote speakers. A highlight of the day was the announcement that the luncheon raised over $9,000 and officially founded the Fund for Women and Girls.
The Fund will be used to promote yearly grants to organizations who have programs which promote positive change and enhance the well being of women and girls. The grant recipient selection will be proactive, as donors will be allowed to vote for the program which best fits the fund’s mission.
